Customer favourite, Carmel Israeli Street Food has found a permanent home at Eden Terrace. Serving the most delicious falafel in Auckland along with an array of authentic Israeli street food…Aucklanders are absolutely hooked.
Founded in 2017 as a food truck, it quickly became the ultimate hotspot at markets. Now, Kiwi-born, Israel-raised Carmel Davidovitch and her partner Tomer, have discovered the perfect space on France Street to inspire Aucklanders to try Israeli bites.
Expect delightful handmade, baked goods such as the famous Rugelach croissants and mouthwatering, irresistible pita breads, stuffed with all sorts of ingredients. Meanwhile, you can dine-in or take your feast away…the choice is yours.
Additionally, the seasonal menu changes frequently to make room for plenty of unique creations. Currently, menu highlights include flavourful rugelach croissants filled with ube and white chocolate, cheesecake Danish, fluffy doughnuts, large challah breads, sweet traditional Nutella brioche and much more.
Likewise, stuffed pita highlights include Crispy Falafel Pita, a perfect vegan choice, the Cheeky Chicken Pita, consisting of marinated chicken, topped with greens, cheese, tomatoes and tzatziki sauce, to name a few. If these don’t appeal to your tastebuds, we don’t know what will?
As Carmel Israeli Street Food is a family business, hours are shorter than other eateries. Carmel only opens Thursday to Saturday, from 9am to 2.30pm. Equally, some Saturday evenings from 5pm to 8pm. Therefore, we encourage you to go as early as possible to avoid queues of people.
