Update: The organiser of this event has communicated to us that they need to cancel the Lunar New Year Feast due to the current situation in Auckland.
Across two weeks, eight days and 16 seatings this coming Lunar New Year, Ghost Street is stepping out from its subterranean restaurant in Auckland to serve up a sumptuous three-course Chinese feast in the Britomart Courtyard, which will be decked out with red lanterns and decorations for the occasion. They’ll be joined by Peddlers Gin, who will be slinging specially-crafted cocktails for the joyous celebration.
Reserve your seat to celebrate the Year of the Water Tiger with Ghost Street.
Taking its name from Beijing’s famous food street that’s peppered with hole-in-the-wall street-food eateries, Ghost Street has been one of the standout restaurant openings in Auckland in 2021. Chefs Nathan Houpapa and Khai Yee Khor have refined recipes to create bold and expressive dishes that are complex and, most importantly, extremely tasty.
For Ghost Street’s Lunar New Year three-course Chinese feast, guests will get to dine on either pork and chive dumplings or spinach shiitake dumplings for their starter. Then, everybody will be slurping up a bowl of Cantonese-style wheat noodles in their choice of broth (Asian mushrooms, lamb leg or chicken) before rounding out their meal with a traditional Chinese dessert—Tang Yuan, a glutinous rice dumpling—or baked egg tarts.
Peddlers Gin will also be in on the action for the Water Tiger revelry with specially crafted cocktails available for purchase as well as beers on hand from Hallertau. A range of non-alcoholic drinks will be available for purchase as well. And parents won’t have to leave the little ones behind as Ghost Street is also serving up a children’s menu for just $12.
Auckland’s Britomart Courtyard will be bustling with life and live entertainment throughout the evening and everyone who attends Ghost Street’s Lunar New Year celebration will also receive a Red Packet goodie bag as part of the Lunar New Year celebration.
The three-course Chinese meal by Ghost Street with cocktails by Peddlers Gin takes place across two weeks from Wednesday 2 to Saturday 5 February and once again from Wednesday 9 February to Saturday 12 February with 90-minute seatings at 6:15pm and 8pm.
Celebrate the Year of the Water Tiger with Ghost Street, one of Auckland’s hottest Chinese restaurants, in the heart of Britomart.
