According to a reports from Hollywood Reporter and Variety, a live-action Harry Potter TV series is in early development by HBO Max.

We have lots of questions. Does it take place straight after Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2? Which characters are due for a return? Are there any new spells or magical items?

Unfortunately, none of these questions have answers just yet. No cast or crew have been associated with the series, and there’s no clues as to what point of Hogwarts’ lifespan it will take place in. It is thought that executives have held meetings with a number of writers with the goal of a TV series coming to the HBO streaming platform.

Whatever happens, any kind of Potter content is sure to be a gold-mine for creators, along with author J.K. Rowling. The eight film adaptations grossed over $7 billion worldwide.
