Auckland is the only city in New Zealand that just scored itself a new hip-hop festival. Get ready to feel young, wild and free at Light It Up, which will hit Spark Arena in Auckland this September.
Expect an epic line-up of artists, headlined by the iconic Wiz Khalifa. The festival will kick off the tour in Sydney in Australia on September 2, before finishing its stint on September 10 in Auckland.
Light It Up
The last time Wiz Khalifa headlined a show in New Zealand, it was for his 2015 sold-our tour, straight after the success of his single See You Again (ft. Charlie Puth) from the Fast & Furious 7 soundtrack.
Joining him on stage will be American hip hop duo Rae Sremmurd and Brooklyn-based Billboard 100 charting artist Lola Brooke. This will be Lola Brooke’s New Zealand debut, and Rae Sremmurd’s first time back in the country since 2019.
Additionally, a number of Australian hip-hop artists will play at the festival. For instance, NSW’s pioneer of Australian drill, Samoan/Chinese artist Hooligan Hefs and Australian-Samoan hip-hop rising star, Youngn Lipz, as well as the DMC Champion DJ BeastMode.
Here are the tour dates:
- SYDNEY – Qudos Bank Arena – Saturday September 2
- BRISBANE – Brisbane Entertainment Centre – Sunday September 3
- ADELAIDE – Adelaide Entertainment Centre – Tuesday September 5
- PERTH – RAC Arena – Wednesday September 6
