Takapuna Winter Lights is shaping up to be an awesome night out.
Takapuna is getting in on the winter festivities this year as part of Elemental AKL. To celebrate, bring the community together and light up the night, Hurstmere Green will be transformed into a wonderland of colour and creativity. There’ll be installations, performance pieces and live music too.
There’s going to be plenty going on and to make sure you’ve got the energy to keep on going, Madam Woo is wooing festivalgoers with a meal perfect for two. And, better yet, it’s just around the corner from all the fun.
Seriously, Madam Woo is only 280m from Hurstmere Green and there you will be able to sit down for lunch or dinner with bonus cocktail on both the Friday and Saturday of Takapuna Winter Lights.
You will begin with a satay platter to share before selecting your choice of main from the list. And with dishes like the honey and soy squid, beef rendang or the char kway teo as well as the Malaysian slaw with chicken, the big, bold and fresh flavours of Madam Woo’s kitchen will be on show.
The restaurant itself is fun and modern making it a great choice to either begin your adventure with a ping-pong cocktail or to round out your Takapuna Winter Lights night.
Helping to transform Hurstmere Green will be one of New Zealand’s leading light artists Angus Muir (AMD) who will be showcasing a collection of their world-leading light installations. Takapuna also welcomes famed performance artist Vospertron, the SILO crew who created the award-winning LUMA sensory journey in Queenstown and a bunch of local DJs including crowd favourite DJ Karn Hall.
Like most, the Takapuna community has done it tough but with this free, family-friendly event they’re looking at a great night out for all.
It’s bound to be busy as well, so book your table for two at Madam Woo and don’t miss out on any of the festive flair taking over the town.
