This looks wonderful.
Diners of Avondale are going to want to listen up here. A brand new Italian-influenced spot is opening its doors and you definitely need to give it a go. [Featured Image: Emanuel Ekström, Unsplash*].
Piccolina is the name, and it comes from Fran Mazza and Aaron Carson, who are gifting us an Italian-themed spot which has a charm that works three-fold. A bakery, a deli, a restaurant? Yes, that’s what we’ve got in store for Avondale and we can’t wait to try it out.
If its as good as Mazza and Carson’s other spots, like Major Tom and Winona Forever, we might be in for one of the biggest treats of 2020. Better late than never, eh?
Piccolina offers great food for any time of the day. Tuck into some granola and yoghurt delights or some tiramisu french toast if you’re up early enough. If you’re wanting something hot, dig into their vast array of egg dishes with crispy potatoes and bacon, or grab their take on an all-time classic and gobble down some spaghetti bolognese. You can even pick up some supplies or a simple coffee from their drive-through port!
Elsewhere, the bakery offers you some sublime snacks. They’re well-stocked up in the worlds of crumbly sausage rolls and knock it out the park with a blue cheese and walnut scones. And, we haven’t even mentioned the sweet stuff yet. From mouthwatering triple – yes, triple – chocolate brownies to crème brûlée to rhubarb and custard tarts, it’s sweet-toothed heaven right from the word go.
We’re completely sold, and you’l catch us down the front when Piccolina gets going for the weekends on November 7. The spot will then be open every day.
