Scapegrace Distillery is an award-winning New Zealand craft spirit producer. Wonderfully, the brand are building a new £13m ($25m in NZ dollars) distillery in Central Otago.
The distillery is located on a 36-hectare property at Lake Dunstan on the South Island. It boasts surreal views of Lake Dunstan and Mt Pisa. Similarly, it will be the biggest distillery in New Zealand producing premium gins, vodkas and even new releases such as malt whisky.
Interestingly, Nat Cheshire, Ascinda Stark and Emily Doll of world-famous Cheshire Architects are designing the new distillery.
The Scapegrace Distillery at Otago will feature a head office, warehouse, bottling hall, barrel rooms, walking tracks for distillery tours through historic gold mines, an epic food and beverage experience for guests and much more.
Scapegrace was founded in 2014 and is today New Zealand’s number 1 selling super-premium spirits company that’s distributed in over 40 countries globally including the United States. Equally, Scapegrace has received countless awards.
The new Scapegrace Distillery will open to the public this year in November 2023.
