It seems New Zealanders couldn’t get enough…
Moving images, a soundtrack, and specially-curated aromas bring to life Van Gogh’s masterpieces. It’s back, baby! [Featured image: grande_exhibitions].
Yes, the multi-sensory Van Gogh “Alive” exhibition is coming back to New Zealand in 2021 after success this year. It’s due to hit Auckland from April 14, 2021. Van Gogh Alive will also roll up to Christchurch and Wellington earlier in the year.
The Van Gogh show is rocking into the Auckland Spark Arena.
Van Gogh Alive has toured to 50 cities around the world and become the most visited multi-sensory art experience to date. In its wake, it has dispelled the traditional way of seeing art and brought to the world such an experience that envelopes the audience in sight, sound, and smell.
The masterpieces of the Dutch post-impressionist painter—think The Starry Night, Sunflowers and over 3000 more images—now swirl, sway and soar, drawing the public in as they are digitally displayed on giant screens, columns, walls, the ceiling, and even the floor. To give you an idea of the size of the exhibition, the projections cover a total of more than 30 IMAX screens.
These details shown on display here are never-before seen techniques from Van Gogh, on show to the public. They’re supported by a classic soundtrack that accompanies the thoughts and intentions of the legendary artist.
It’s back from April 14, but ticket-sale dates have not yet been released…
This is a new and great way to experience Van Gogh, so be sure to snap up tickets when they do go on sale. We’re certain they’ll be in very high demand!
