Music venues in Auckland are amazing but none rival the venues chosen by Candlelight for its incredible Candlelight concerts. These special spots bring an extra dash of magic to these beautiful celebrations of magic. As the lights go down and candles flicker, the unique features of these buildings are highlighted in the most breathtaking way.
From churches to outdoor venues and theatres, Candlelight leaves no stone unturned in its quest for the perfect venues. There’s nothing quite like hearing the serenade of talented musicians echo across these fantastic spaces – it’s intrinsically enchanting.
Holy Trinity Cathedral: a beautiful backdrop
Located in the residential suburb of Parnell, St Mary’s In Holy Trinity was first built in 1897. The cathedral’s most impressive feature is without a doubt the beautiful nave designed by Kiwi architect Professor Richard Toy in 1995. When light hits the tall stained glass windows that take pride of place in the cathedral, colours of purple and blue light up the vaulted timber ceiling that’s reminiscent of a traditional Māori marae.
Auckland Baptist Tabernacle: an iconic city landmark
First opened in 1885, Auckland Baptist Tabernacle is an iconic landmark located at the top of Queen Street. The venue is most known for its large six pillars at the entrance of the building, but its gorgeous interior is just as impressive. Seven stunning chandeliers illuminate the auditorium’s beautiful kauri-paneled ceiling which plays host to a variety of concerts, shows and conferences.
Candlelight has been met with countless 5-star reviews and wowed audiences in cities around the world. These captivating concerts are lighting up remarkable venues across Auckland with breathtaking live music and a sea of glowing candles. It’s certainly an experience that can’t be missed.
