Summer is getting into full swing down at Aotea Square.
An immersive and interactive digital sound experience is setting up shop in Auckland Aotea Square today (December 12). It’s part of the “Summer at the Square” initiative which offers a diverse range of activities to coincide with the warm weather. [Featured Image: Aotea Symphony].
Aotea Symphony invites visitors to create their sounds from the city into a visual symphony. All participants are encouraged to interact with anyone and everyone to create their own unique sounds.
All you’ll have to do is step on the buttons to create sounds, and from there you can build up your very own magnum opus! Your pieces can then be shared using #aoteasymphony.
It runs for one hour, and you can stay to enjoy the experience as long as you like. Aotea Symphony is set to remain in place until February 22, 2021.
This piece has been created and brought to Aotea Square by Blob Collective. The artists behind this are artist and animator Huey Min Pon and digital designer Melody Renaud. They combine with the aim to “close the bridge between art and technology in order to craft captivating digital art experiences”.
