Travelling the world is a magical experience, but when you plan to take your pets, it can be an absolute nightmare, often involving a heartbreaking scene of leaving them alone inside an airplane’s cargo, or else at home with a dog sitter.
But now, travel for pet owners has been made easier by a new pet-friendly airline. K9 Jets, a pet-friendly jet company, based in the United Kingdom welcomes both dogs and cats abroad its flights. On K9 Jets, dog owners can perch their fur babies in a seat right next to them, but cats must be placed in a carrier.
The emergence of K9 Jets means that pets no longer have to travel in cargo or in a cage to get to destinations globally. Flights are currently offered on routes between New Jersey and London, Paris, Dubai, Nice, Los Angeles and Lisbon.
How it works
K9 Jets offers a pay-per-seat private jet experience between these cities. This allows pet owners to book seats for themselves and up to two pets, at no extra cost, including snacks, taxes, drinks from a bar, and refreshments in the ticket price.
Although, there’s a catch: it’s pretty expensive. Seats on the flights for pets cost between US $8000 and $10,000. Regardless, prices have not put many off, with sold-out routes across the board over the next few months. And, for those who can afford it, can you really put a price on love for your furry friend?
Each flight is funded on demand. This means that once 75% of seats are booked, you will be notified that your trip is secured. If a route does not go ahead due to low bookings, 100% refunds are provided. Passengers must register their interest via K9 Jets website for knowledge on routes.
At present, there’s no word whether K9 Jets plans to bring their flights for pets to New Zealand but we will be the first to inform you when they do.
